Tattoo You

Marmite has a sizeable collection of them, Piley's is Betty Page shaped, Bleecher's is modelled on a Mexican motif, Jack Gestures (no blog) is a Joy Division tribute - what are they? Tattoos of course!

I always wobble between do I really want one? What design to go for and where should it be fused forever? Although I've been sitting on the tattoo fence for so long, it's unlikely I'll take a tumble now.

But what I have noticed this summer is a sudden surge in girls with foot tattoos - sprinklings of stars, floral motifs or crazy curls - but why the foot? And why suddenly so popular? And how do you keep still during a crazy combo of tickle and torture?

And why in the name of Darth Maul would anyone want a facial tattoo? - Doesn't that just mark your card as nutterpsychospacecadet straight away?

So how about some hard core tattooed rock monsters then?

Rose Tattoo - 'Bad Boy For Love'
Featuring Angry Anderson - singer of 'Suddenly' (The Wedding Theme From Neighbours)

Michael Monroe - 'Dead, Jail or Rock n' Roll'
Michael Monroe was the former frontman of Hanoi Rocks - a band that created a metal template later cloned and copied by bands like Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses.

Tats eh? Not for me. I think it's far too didycoy to have tats all over one's body.

There's something about Tat's that’s real sexy - If you don't go to far!

Toyed with the idea myself - Got an idea in mind! - Thought I would have it on my tail?

The thing that puts me off is: Would I tire of the design I choose???

I think perhaps "Miami ink" and the like are having an impact on the girls?

http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/realtime/miamiink/

It's a great show - I watch it a lot!

They do a lot of foot tattoos for girls - The evil eye was a bit suspect! - The butterflies are pretty tho...

AV - I'm always tempted, and came up with an idea for one when at sixteen (based around The Damned and 'New Rose') but do I want it now? I'm not sure.

Lil - I don't know 'Maimi Ink', I'll have to keep an eye out. That's the thing, would I go off it the minute it's finished (probably knowing me)?

On your tail - what lower back? Watch out, those type of tat's come with all sorts of rumors attached.

Yeah kinda - What's the rumour PM? - Will it put me off???

There's spin off shows too; LA ink, London ink - I wasn't so keen on London ink tho...

When I had mine done, I felt not a thing, thanks to the numbing cream they put on beforehand. Thus taking any coolness away from having it done...

You do not want a tat if it makes you look like Nikki Sixx!

And just imagine how he's going to look at age 70...

Lil - I'm too discreet to say but the answers are all out there (on Google)

So where did you get your tattoo done Clair?
PS I don't mean Stevenage or Crouch End

Cocktails - I don't mind ol' Sixxy to much, and considering what he's been through (I recommend reading Motley Crue's 'The Dirt' if you haven't) he hasn't weathered that badly

the ones I think are strange are the cat/kitten paw print trails. I saw woman with them along her neck. Our cleaner at work has two Dog paw prints on the back of her pelvis (she wear short tops BTW) it just seems like a really tired joke "i like it doggy fashion....

I think in general less is more

I've a ying yang symbol on my shoulder, about the size of a two pound coin. Got it when I was about 25. Had plans to get some more but never got around to it. Still might get some more, but I don't know...

What I've found from other people I know and that I found myself was that I actually enjoyed the experience. Mine has a thick black outline and that hurt cos they had to go deep and fast. But the filled in area - it actually felt nice.

Didn't hurt that the tatooist was a beautiful Italian girl, who didn't speak a word of English and had my arm pinned between her legs to hold me steady....

I used to think it was banned to have tatoos on the foot - too near the bone, you see. But clearly that's not the case.

I have none. Toyed with it, but glad i didn't, as I know I'd go off it the minute I got it.

I'm still on the wobble - and got that summer buzz for it - you're tempting me in you lot! (And I'm on leave and not meant to be blogging at the mo' either)

come on in, the waters fine mondo!

Mine took 4.5 hrs, and like Simon, have to say I enjoyed most of it! Hurts for 1st 10-15 mins, then the ol endorphins kick in, and i found it quite theraputic. then the ol endorphins kick out again, and it hurt like buggery again towards the end. have never regretted it tho. In fact, am thinking about another at the mo.
